Overview

Dinner Invite helps people plan dinners by comparing calendar free/busy availability and invitee-selected dinner options. We collect only the information needed to create invitations, suggest matching times, and send dinner-related emails.

Information We Collect

When you use Dinner Invite, we may collect your name, email address, Google account email, dinner titles, invitee names and emails, selected dinner times, review decisions, and basic app session information. If you connect Google Calendar, we request free/busy availability for the dinner planning window.

Google Calendar Data

Dinner Invite uses the Google Calendar free/busy scope to see whether calendar blocks overlap with proposed dinner times. The app does not request event titles, event descriptions, attendee lists, locations, attachments, or full calendar event details. The app does not create, edit, or delete calendar events.

We store the free/busy windows returned by Google for the relevant dinner planning period so the app can rank proposed dinner times. When you approve Calendar access, we also store encrypted Google OAuth tokens so the app can refresh free/busy availability for future dinners without asking you to approve the same permission again.

OAuth tokens are encrypted before they are stored. You can disconnect Google Calendar from the My Invites page, revoke access in your Google Account, or request deletion using the data deletion page.

How We Use Information

We use information to create dinner invitations, generate private invite links, show available times, let reviewers approve or edit selections, notify hosts and invitees by email, protect login sessions, troubleshoot the app, and improve the planning workflow.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Dinner details and selected times are shared with the dinner host and, when an invitee chooses reviewer approval, with the reviewer invited by that invitee. We use service providers such as Cloudflare for hosting, Google for authentication and calendar availability, and Resend for email delivery.

Google API Limited Use

Dinner Invite's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Calendar free/busy data is used only to provide user-facing dinner scheduling features.

Retention

We keep dinner planning data while it is needed for the dinner workflow, testing, troubleshooting, or legal compliance. Encrypted Google tokens are kept until you disconnect Calendar, revoke access, or request deletion. You can request deletion of your data at any time using the data deletion page.

Your Choices

You can choose not to connect Google Calendar, although the app may not be able to suggest matches from your calendar. You can disconnect Calendar from the My Invites page, request data deletion, or ask questions using the support page.
